National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Orleans Family Health Clinic recognizes the importance of addressing inequities in healthcare faced by Indigenous patients.
We commit to supporting Indigenous-led, holistic, and culturally safe healthcare practices that empower Indigenous communities. As a clinic, we strive to create safe, respectful, and inclusive spaces for Indigenous patients and professionals. We are dedicated to adapting care models, policies, and education to meet the distinct needs of Indigenous communities while supporting greater representation and leadership in healthcare.
Orleans Family Health Clinic – Our Pledge to Inclusion
Drawing on insights from the Canadian Medical Association’s recent reflection on Truth and Reconciliation, we recognize that although some Calls to Action have begun to see implementation, especially in health education and fostering safer systems, significant gaps persist. We commit to unlearning harmful assumptions, listening to Indigenous voices, and adapting our policies to better serve Indigenous individuals and communities.
At Orleans Family Health Clinic, we pledge to provide culturally safe and inclusive healthcare. We are committed to supporting Indigenous-led, holistic approaches to care and to ensuring that our clinic remains a respectful and welcoming space for Indigenous patients and professionals.
